Sea

The June Gloom seascapes, the Inceville water studies, and the numbered works form a single body of ocean photography shot on medium format film in and around Santa Monica Bay. The Untitled series documents the marine layer from shore — sky dissolving into sea. The Inceville series is made from the water itself, camera at wave height. MXXII and DXXXII mark the extremes of the tonal range. Salton Sea Sunset, the sole color image, is from the inland sea east of the San Diego mountains. Prints are archival pigment on museum-quality paper, signed, available in sizes up to 48 × 60 inches.

Land

Alex Hoerner’s landscape work moves between black-and-white desert abstraction and saturated color. The Imperial Dunes series reduces sand and sky to sculptural form; the color work—Grand Canyon, Taos, Skinners Falls—holds specific places in specific light. All shot on medium format film. Prints are archival pigment on museum-quality paper, signed, and available in sizes up to 48 × 60 inches.

Air / Surface Tension

Soap bubbles on the Santa Monica shoreline, each one a fraction of a second from vanishing. The Surface Tension series captures refracted light, iridescent color, and fleeting form against the Pacific horizon. Every bubble is unique — its shape, color, and relationship to sky and water never repeatable. Shot on the same medium format camera as the seascape work. All Surface Tension prints are limited editions, signed and numbered. Prints start at $199.
